I miss this girl...

Here she is...standing out in the pouring rain, leggings and boots and a funky dress. Silly girl! It's the rainy season in San Miguel.

This is such an interesting picture. She is sitting in front of the light over her bed in her beautiful room in San Miguel. She looks quite angelic, doesn't she? She is not perfect, nor am I, but she is one of the kindest, most nurturing people I have known...and she is my daughter.

I know she is hardly a girl anymore...but she is my girl, always. When we are together, we are every age. Young and silly, old and wise. There is something that is so special about having a daughter,

She will be back in a week, full of exciting tales and improved Spanish. Right now, it seems like a million years away.

Can I say it again? I miss this girl...

  1. I agree, it feels awful when loved ones are away - I always miss my daughter terribly when she's at summer camp. But luckily, they come back, and when they do...it's wonderful x's 10!

  12. A week is not so long. She will be back before you know it. I love the jewelry you make. I am especially enamored of the bracelet you made with chain and the steel cut buckle. Just lovely. I also found the concept of the barefoot sandals interesting kinda like jewelry for your feet. a great idea. I wish you and your daughter all the best in your new jewelry venture. Thank you for stopping by to say Hello on my blog.

  16. Oh the LOVE! It's good to be back home and read about all this love between mothers and daughters!
My mom (Suz) is right- we are able to be every age when we are together. This is something that she has taught me and that serves me in every walk of life to connect with and bring out the best in others. I use it in my therapy work with families and children. I even carried with me to San Miguel- where I charmed and was charmed by many wonderful people!!

I missed you, too, momma me bear!
