This is my wish cup...

This is my wish tea cup. It is pretty tiny....about three inches across for the cup and about four and a half inches for the saucer. I must admit, I have an obsession. I want tea cups. I crave tea cups. Every Tuesday, I gaze longingly at the beautiful tea cups that people on Tea Cup Tuesday. They are so lovely! They are big and had unusual shapes and often have real gold trim.

This is my starter tea cup. It lives on my bedside table and I see it every morning. It has a surprise in the bottom of the cup. A very sweet flower!!!

What I like best about my wish cup is the colors. It has wonderful pink and cranberry roses and the flourishes around the roses are turquoise, and a bright turquoise at that. It even has a little gold around the inside rim!

When I turn it over to show its pedigree (like you all do)...well, not much of a pedigree. It is Hong Kong, not Royal This or Royal That. Above the emblem are some scratchy black letters that say, "NOT FOR FOOD USE." Oh dear, I guess I can't show you a picture of me drinking Aveda tea (soft and soothing).

Still, I love it. And I have a funny feeling...this is only the beginning!

That way no one would drink out of it by accident. Sending (((hugs))) to you, my friend!

  4. Suz your cup of wishes is so very sweet and since it is for wishes and not for sipping tea it is perfect as it is. Many of us do not have a royal pedigree but we are truly special in spite of that! Happy teacup collecting...

  5. What a beautiful teacup to hold wishes. It makes me wonder why the maker made it knowing tea wouldn't be put into it. I wonder what they thought would go in it?

Wishing you a wonderful and blessed day.

  6. It's a very sweet little tea cup. I know what you mean. I have three or four of them that live with me and were the start of a collection. But I got distracted.

May your tea cup be filled with magic.

  9. I totally agree with you, this cup has such amazing colors in it. I love the little flowers too, and the one in the bottom of the cup is very sweet. The paint may have lead in it and that may be why you are not to use it for food. I have a set like that, gorgeous, but not for food.
With such a pretty cup to wish on, I am sure more tea cups will be coming your way!
    Hugs,
    Terri

  21. Suz;
I love your 'wish cup' It is very pretty and feminine and YOU! I have a tiny gold teacup that my grandmother left me when she passed on... inside my Aunt placed her emerald earrings that she knew I LOVED as a little girl!
I am definitely a 'tea' girl but I am always afraid to use real dainty china for tea, I am scared of breaking them as I am a 100% pure clutz! LOL!
    Big hugs and many blessings

  22. Your cup and saucer is beautiful! I am so surprised it can't be used for drinking! Hmmm, maybe it came with flowers in it. I know FTD,etc does that. You could put a little silk flower in it for your nightstand. OH YES, you SHOULD treat yourself to a few more sets(or at least to START). Look in your GoodWill stores, it makes a fun place for a HUNT!!!
I tried to FOLLOW YOU but it's NOT registering, I'll keep trying... I'm hoping you will follow me too, if you like!
    Have a wonderful week,
    Hugs,
    Donna
NOW I'm off to see your "Jewelry"!!!

  24. What a lovely little teacup! Don’t worry about the pedigree - who looks at them anyway when filled with tea, bottoms are to sit on:) I’m fairly new myself to the teacup world. I’ve had a few teacups and teapots for years but kept them behind glass where they were safe. Now I use them! Looking for them in second-hand stores and antique stores has become one of my favorite hobbies…treasure hunting! Have a wonderful time with your new collection to be!

  25. My friend Allegra has gifted me with the finest tea cups, and I know not a thing about what is rare and what is fine bone or anything at all except they're lovely and they come from her. Yours looks like those she gives me, and I feel like we're sharing tea right now.
